SPEP Program Class Activity Illustration

The curriculum for the Summer Pre- Dental Enrichment  Program consists of five core courses designed to augment the students' knowledge base for taking the DAT:

  • Introduction to the Human Body
    • integrates biomedical sciences within a problem-based learning environment.
       

  • Introduction to Dental Sciences
    • provides introductory information about dentistry, the dental specialties and hands-on experiences in basic patient examination, infection control and clinic experiences.

  • Pre-Clinical Dentistry
    • demonstrates the application of pre-clinical courses to dental practice and provides hands-on experiences using dental materials.

  • Learning Strategies
    • promotes the effective use of learning techniques and study skills.

  • DAT Preparation
    • prepares the participants to take the DAT at the end of the program.

  • Research
    • provides students with an opportunity to investigate a dental topic and present the findings.
