Primary Responsibilities
Provides Faculty supervision of OMS Residents during rotations for operating room experience with complicated cases.

Dr. Wolford has been on the Clinical
Faculty at Baylor College of Dentistry since 1983, while conducting a private practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery on the adjacent Baylor University Medical Center campus. He has concurrently
served as Director of an oral and maxillofacial surgery Fellowship program that is affiliated with both institutions since 1985.
Dr. Wolford's primary research interests include TMJ pathology, dentofacial and craniofacial deformities,
cleft lip and palate repair, and microneurosurgery. He has co-authored or edited three oral and maxillofacial surgery textbooks, written 17 textbook chapters, and has published more than 120
professional articles and 84 scientific abstracts. He is known internationally for his research and work in orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint
surgery, cleft lip and palate repair, craniofacial surgery, and microneurosurgery.
Dr. Wolford also is in high demand internationally as a speaker at both medical and dental organization
meetings. Presently he has a number of funded clinical research projects underway in the areas of TMJ total joint prostheses, TM joint arthritis (in collaboration with institutions in Michigan and
Massachusetts), and identification of genetic factors associated with TMJ pathology.
