Primary Responsibilities

Dr. Taylor serves as Director of the Pharmacology Division, which is comprised of the Predoctoral dental, dental hygiene, and clinical graduate pharmacology and pain/anxiety control curricula. He teaches these subjects in the department and provides pharmacology lectures for other departments as well!

TaylorDr. Taylor serves as Director of the Pharmacology Division with general supervision of all pharmacology courses taught at BCD and oversight for the pain and anxiety control curriculum. He teaches the pharmacology courses to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year dental students and 2nd year dental hygiene students, participates in teaching courses to Graduate programs and serves as Pharmacology consultant to the BCD Salivary Dysfunction Clinic. He also serves as the Chairman of the BCD Institutional Review Board, which screens and scrutinizes all research projects in the College.

Dr. Taylor's research interests include salivary gland function and dysfunction, with a specific interest towards radiation-induced dysfunction. His present research is directed towards identifying the mode of cell death, and developing a pharmacotherapeutics strategy to protect against such damage during radiation therapy. He is also a collaborator in a project aimed at identifying the biological effects of citrus flavenoids. Dr. Taylor also mentors several dental students who are engaged in student research projects during their training.
