Primary Responsibilities
Dr. Franco assists with the OMS predoctoral curriculum, serves on the Faculty of the OMS Undergraduate Clinic and assists in teaching
advances clinical procedures to the OMS residents in the graduate program. Additionally, he is participating in research on the TMJ and distraction osteogenesis.

 Dr. Franco joined the OMS
Faculty in 2000 to assist the undergraduate clinic. Following 3 years of specialty training in Colombia, Dr. Franco spent 2 years at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago concluding his
residency program and completing a Fellowship program under Drs. Mark Steinberg and Louis Mercuri. Then, he spent 15 months in a postgraduate Fellowship program at Baylor
University Medical Center in Dallas with Dr. Larry Wolford. Following that, he returned to Colombia to a successful private practice in Bogota-Colombia and joined Pontificia Javeriana
University as a clinical professor.
Dr. Franco practices the full scope of OMS with emphasis in TM Joint surgery. He has special
interest in facial cosmetic, orthognathic surgery and distraction osteogenesis. He frequently serves on mission's trips to treat patients in other countries with cleft lip and palate deformities, and
children with craniofacial syndromes. He lectures internationally on the topics of facial reconstruction, TM Joint Surgery and orthognathic surgery.
