A New Tradition for a New Decade: The Baylor College of Dentistry Annual Fund

Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry is pleased to announce the revival of the Baylor College of Dentistry Annual Fund.

For 105 years, Baylor College of Dentistry has successfully helped young people fulfill their ambitions of becoming dental professionals; we have nearly 7,200 alums.
We’ve cared for the community and desire the capacity to do more; 296,528 people were served in 2009. We have sought innovations in science, education and health care delivery; we exceeded $3.5 million in research expenditures in 2009.

The college started this new decade with a challenge to do more. We need to increase our student scholarship funds. We need additional resources to help our indigent patients help themselves, and we need to expand the availability of start-up funding for students, faculty and staff who have ideas for new and innovative programs.

However, we need more to do more.  So as you make your decisions on how to allocate your charitable dollars, we invite you to consider a gift to the Baylor College of Dentistry Annual Fund.

A Beacon in the State of Texas

At the start of the 20th century, around the time Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry began as the State Dental College, most Americans expected to be toothless by age 45, and they were.

Expectations of oral health have changed and so has the college.  Educating oral health professionals for more than 10 decades has distinguished HSC-BCD in its quest for improving the health of Texans.

Sim LabToday, Baylor College of Dentistry is working toward innovative treatments, leading-edge technology and better ways to deliver care.

The college not only ensures that Texas has qualified generations of dentists, dental hygienists and scientists, but also provides critically needed care for patients who have no other access to oral health care.

Annual patient visits to the college exceeded 100,000 in 2008, and more than 220,000 people were served through community-based care, screenings and education programs.
