Dr. DeWald is a Professor with tenure and Director/Chair of the Caruth School of Dental Hygiene.  She received both her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry and her Master of Science in Oral Biology/Dental Materials from Baylor University.

Dr. DeWald has published over 65 refereed articles and abstracts and currently teaches courses in research, dental anatomy and the specialties of dentistry.
