Baylor College of Dentistry is the single largest provider of oral health care services in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, with approximately 120,000 total patient visits per year. The college's mission is to improve the oral health of Texans and shape the future of dentistry by developing exemplary clinicians, educators and scientists, caring for the needs of a diverse community, serving as a leader in health professions education, and seeking innovations in science, education and health care delivery.

Degrees Offered

* B.S. (Dental Hygiene)
* M.S. (Oral Biology, Biomaterials Science, Biomedical Sciences (offered through GSBS), Dental Hygiene and Health Professions Education
* M.D. (Joint program in Oral Surgery, in conjunction with Texas Tech University Health Science Center)
* D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery)
* D.D.S./Ph.D. combined degrees, specialty Ph.D.
* M.S./Ph.D. In Biomedical Science (offered through GSBS)

Residencies and Specialty Programs

Post-D.D.S. certificates in advanced education in general dentistry, endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral and maxillofacial pathology, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics and public health sciences. The program in oral and maxillofacial radiology, the newest specialty, is under development.


Doctor of Dental Surgery, D.D.S.

Requirements: Dental Admissions Test, 90 semester hours college course work (minimum)
