The faculty and staff of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Baylor College of Dentistry are involved in numerous research and teaching activities in many areas of the biomedical sciences.

An important component of these activities is the desire to educate and learn through seminars, presentations of scientific findings, and attendance at professional meetings at the national and international levels.

The department organized two seminar series beginning in 2007-2008, "Pathways to Excellence" (Dr. Kathy Svoboda, founding organizer; Dr. Jerry Feng, current organizer) and a series of departmental seminars.  Information about speakers and topics can be found at the links below.

Mineralized Tissue Course

The Department of Biomedical Sciences offers a week-long course in Mineralized Tissue Preparation for light and scanning electron microscopy.  This year's course will be held from June 3 through June 7, 2013.   Information about the course and registration through the Continuing Education department is available at http://bcd.tamhsc.edu/bcdce/courses.html.
