Rolling Gums

What are the known causes for the condition known as "rolling gums". This is a condition where the outer surface of the gums appear to have developed a roll. The gums in all other respects are healthy and tight and there is no apparent periodontal disease. I have been told that this may be caused by several prescription drugs but am unaware of the name. Could it possibly be caused by overuse of the non-prescription drug "minoxidil" (topical for hair regrowth), or the drug Proscar (DHT inhibitor).  Thanks very much for any help on this.

The condition "rolling gums" does not appear in any of the current periodontology (the study of the periodontium "gums") textbooks. The term "rolled margins", is a descriptive term, occasionally used to note changes in the gingival (gum) contours, which may be caused by a number of different factors. There have been no reports in the dental literature relating gingival contour changes to the use/misuse of  "minoxidil" nor "Proscar."
