Dickey invited to President's Economic Forum
Dr. Nancy W. Dickey,
president of The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center, participated in U.S. President George W. Bush's President's Economic Forum Aug. 13 at Baylor Law School in Waco, Texas.
Dickey, who was the only health science center president in the country invited to participate, took part in a roundtable discussion focusing on health care security. The panel, chaired by Health and Human
Services Secretary Tommy Thompson, discussed rising health care costs and new approaches to making higher quality health care available to all Americans. Dr. Bill Roper, dean of the University of North Carolina School of Public
Health, delivered the keynote address.
The President's Economic Forum was a series of group discussions including people from all walks of life and from all across the nation. Topics included economic recovery and job creation, corporate responsibility,
small investors and retirement security, small business and smarter regulation, education and workers, trade and agriculture, and technology and innovation.
