State Fair

BCD program presented at state fair

By the Roots

The State Fair of Texas is in full swing, attracting men and women, boys and girls from across the state. Sometime between munching on corny dogs, lingering over exhibits and exploring the midway, numerous fair-goers will wander over to The Science Place to check out "Tooth Safari."

Sponsored by Baylor College of Dentistry's Department of Public Health Sciences, this exhibit is a modified version of a module in the college's By the Roots program. The venue will include a computer, three monitors, video and sound connections to bring high-tech flair to the exhibit, which also features the module's impressive animal skull collection.

Phil Ford, community education specialist in biomaterials science, will make the presentations at 11:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. during the fair's run, which ends Oct. 20.
