Women's Club plans craft fair, announces chili cook-off winners
The Baylor College of Dentistry Women's Club will
host BCD's annual Craft Fair and Sandwich Sale Nov.13 in the sixth floor lobby. "It's a great place to get your holiday gifts," said Carol Libby, club president and administrative assistant I in periodontics.
Browsing is free. To reserve a table for craft sales, contact Libby at Ext 8140 or Leeanna Bartlett, assistant professor of public health sciences and director of social services, at Ext
8353. Cost is $10 per table.
The sandwich sale will benefit the organization's scholarship fund for a dental or dental hygiene student as well as the Social Services Fund administered by Bartlett. The $5
price includes a sandwich, chips, pickle, cookie and drink.
Great chili was the order of the day during the Women's Club's annual Chili Cook-off Oct. 10. The event brought in $431 that the organization will use to support its
scholarship fund and the Social Services Fund.
"We raised $100 more this year than we have in the past," said Libby. "We really appreciate the judges and everyone who participated."
Frances Espinoza, dental assistant II in diagnostic sciences, won judges' first choice and Carmen Banks, graphic illustrator, took judges' second choice. Dr. Steve Crane
(BCD '73), clinical assistant professor of public health sciences, won the hottest category and Dr. Loulou Moore (BCD '93, '94), assistant professor of restorative sciences, won people's choice.
Judges were John Clark, accountant III in financial services; Elizabeth Fulce, publications editor in communications and development; and Dr. Richard Tollefsbol,
assistant professor of diagnostic sciences.
