New board members of the Baylor College of Dentistry Alumni Association include Dr. Mark Yarbrough (BCD '73) of Albuquerque, N.M., president; Dr. Mickey Vaclav (BCD '74) of Amarillo, Texas, president-elect; Dr. Frank Higginbottom (BCD '71) of Dallas, secretary-treasurer; and Dr. Scott Waugh (BCD '74) of Edmond, Okla., immediate past president.

The Asian-American Dental Society at Baylor College of Dentistry is sponsoring a Children's Sealant Day at the college May 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The program is supported by the college's pediatric dentistry and public health sciences departments.

Open to children ages 6-14, the program is free. However, children must have appointments to be treated; a parent or legal guardian must accompany them.

Obituaries

Nathaniel Coleman passed away April 11. His sister is Hattie Marshall, a dental technician in restorative sciences.

Doris Johnson passed away May 4 in Minneapolis. Her son is Dale Christensen, executive director of facilities planning and services.

Wilmer Whitley passed away April 29 in Gilbert, La. His son is Sidney Whitley, assistant chief of security.

Reminder

BCD faculty, staff and students are encouraged to submit professional and personal news for publication in the BDR Online, BCD's monthly online newsletter. Some submissions may be held for the Baylor Dental Record, a printed newsletter that is produced three times annually, or the Baylor Dental Journal, the college's annual magazine.

The deadline for submissions is generally the Friday following the first Monday of each month. However, a reminder will be sent via email prior to each deadline.
