Three Baylor College of Dentistry faculty members have been tapped for leadership recently.
Dr. Jason Griggs,
assistant professor and graduate program director of biomaterials science, was appointed to the American Association for Dental Research's Science Information Committee.
His three-year term begins March 15.
Last November, Griggs began a four-year term on the board of the Academy of Dental Materials. He was elected to that position during the Fourth International Congress on Dental Materials, also in November.

Dr. Stephen Parel,
professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery/pharmacology and director of the Center for Maxillofacial Prosthodontics, has been elected the newest examiner for the
American Board of Prosthodontics. The announcement was made by the American College of Prosthodontists in February. Parel's seven-year term begins in fall 2003.

Dr. Kathy Svoboda, professor of biomedical sciences, is the new president-elect of the American Association of Anatomists. She will begin her two-year term in April once the formal announcement is
made at the AAA's annual board meeting. Her president-elect service will be followed by a two-year term as president and another two-year term as past president.
Svoboda also recently was appointed associate editor of Anatomical Record and was appointed to the editorial board of Developmental Dynamics. Check out "Employee Profile" in this issue of the Baylor Dental Record Online for a personal glimpse of Svoboda.
