Diagnostic Sciences Presentation:
Dr. John M. Wright presented "A Practical Approach to Oral Pathology in General Practice" during a continuing dental education course titled "Destination Puerto Vallarta" in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Jan. 24-26. Cosponsored by Baylor College of Dentistry and the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio's dental school, the program attracted participants from across the United States and Canada. Co -presenter was Dr. David Cagna of UT-San Antonio.

Dr. Roger Alexander presented a three-hour lecture on "Complications of Office Oral Surgery" to the annual RADM Vaughn Symposium for Naval Reserve dental officers in Fort Worth, Texas, Jan. 20.Dr. Carlos A.
Morales-Ryan was invited to Monterrey, Mexico, to speak at the joint meeting of the XV Congreso de Colegio de Ortodoncia y Ortopedia Maxilar and Colegio de Cinjaros Bucales y Maxilofaciales de Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The meeting was
held Jan. 24-26. He spoke on "Respiratory Obstructions: Etiology, Evolution, Treatment Planning and Surgical Correction" and "Cosmetic Surgery: Coadjuvants in Orthodontics and Orthognathic Surgery."
Periodontics Presentations: Dr. Nancy Burkhart presented "The Clinical Management of Oral Lichen Planus" to the East Tennessee State University College of Medicine's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Jan. 30.
Dr. Francisco Rivera-Hidalgo traveled to San Salvador, El Salvador, to give a two-day course titled "Clinical Research Methodology" at the University of Usam. Faculty from
the university's dental and medical schools attended. He also gave a three-day course titled "Clinical Photography" to more than 200 dental students and faculty at the Universidad Nacional Salvadorena. Both lectures took place
Feb. 5-9. Public Health Sciences Presentation:
Dr. K. Vendrell Rankin spoke on tobacco cessation and control at a continuing dental education program called "Strategies for Reducing Cancer Risk Factors: Oral Cancer, Tobacco Cessation and Behavior Modification." Presented Jan. 25 at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, the CDE course was sponsored by the Dental Oncology Education Program that is directed by Rankin.
