Dental hygiene student receives scholarship

Kasey Williams, a senior student at Baylor College of Dentistry's Caruth School of Dental Hygiene, received a $1,000 scholarship from THUNDER Alliance. Presented annually to an American Indian higher education student, the scholarship is given to help the recipient achieve academic goals.

Pearl Kapuscinski, administrative assistant in oral and maxillofacial surgery, presented the scholarship to Williams May 7. Kapuscinski serves on the alliance's board of directors.

that exists to nurture the path of American Indian people who choose to pursue an education while promoting a lifestyle imbued with American Indian values and beliefs. It also was established to exchange information between various American Indian student groups and to provide a support system for those higher education students.
