Baylor College of Dentistry honored 160 graduates and recognized numerous award recipients during its Commencement Ceremony May 23 at the
Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Dr. David Sibley
(BCD '74, '76) was the keynote speaker and Dr. Nancy Dickey, president of The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center, conferred degrees. Dr. James Cole (BCD '75), BCD dean,
presented the "Dean's Charge to the Graduates" at the ceremony's conclusion. See "Dean makes comments" below for his remarks.BCD awarded 78 dental degrees, 29 bachelor's degrees in dental hygiene from the
college's Caruth School of Dental Hygiene, 27 certificates in dentistry, one fellowship in cosmetic and implant dentistry, three master's degrees, and eight M.S. degrees and certificates in dentistry. One
M.S. degree and three doctorate degrees were awarded to BCD students by the HSC's Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Additionally, 10 BCD students were recognized for degrees earned since graduation
last year. Of these, BCD awarded seven M.S. degrees and certificates in dentistry, GSBS awarded one doctorate degree, and the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Medicine awarded two medical degrees.
