BCD faculty, student volunteer at dental clinic
Dr. Steve Crane (BCD '73), clinical assistant professor of public health sciences, Dr. Odalis Skur, assistant professor of public health sciences, and Dr. Ty Shafer (BCD '03), then a fourth-year
dental student, volunteered at Christina's Smile Children's Dental Clinic in May. The clinic provides quality, comprehensive dentistry to children in need.
The clinic is run in cooperation with the PGA Tours and Champions Tour. Dental care is provided in a 48-foot mobile dental clinic that travels to communities hosting the Senior PGA Tour. The mobile clinic is appointed with all
the equipment and supplies necessary to deliver dental care to children. Volunteer dentists such as Crane, Skur and Shafer treat the young patients in the mobile clinic.
