Dr. Marco Cueva (BCD '02), assistant professor of periodontics and assistant director of postgraduate periodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry, is a diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontics. He passed the oral exam in May and the written exam last November.

On May 15, the Dallas County Dental Society presented awards to BCD faculty members Dr. Kay Mash, associate professor of restorative sciences, and Dr. Jeffrey Siebert (BCD '99), clinical assistant professor of diagnostic sciences. Mash is the first recipient of the society's new Baylor Faculty Award, which was created to recognize outstanding teachers, active participants in research and active members of organized dentistry. Siebert was named 2003 New Dentist of the Year, which recognizes DCDS members for their contributions to the society during their first 10 years out of dental school.

Dr. John Wright, professor and director of pathology and vice chair of diagnostic sciences, was honored by his alma mater when he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from West Virginia University School of Dentistry May 2. The award is only presented when deemed merited by the selection committee. Wright received the award during the school's alumni reception and reunion in Morgantown, W.V.
