HSC seeks input to revise mission and goals
The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center's Executive Committee is revising the HSC's mission and goals. According to Dr. Eric Solomon, executive director of the HSC Office of Institutional Research and
chair of the HSC Strategic Planning Committee, an effective planning effort involves all of the health science center's constituents.To that end, Baylor College of Dentistry students and employees could have an
impact on the overall direction of the HSC and BCD. "The mission and goals of an institution guide the strategic planning process and thus determine project and funding priorities," Solomon said. Solomon requests that
comments or concerns regarding the current mission and goals (included below) be submitted to him by July 17. "All feedback will be considered by the HSC Executive Committee and the HSC Strategic Planning Committee in

technology transfer, and developing public and community health programs. This approach includes a special emphasis for underserved and rural populations, and it extends the land-grant philosophy of improving the
quality of life through good health and strengthening the economy by encouraging a healthy workforce. Goals The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center, with its unique statewide multidisciplinary components as well as public and private partnerships, fulfills its
