Festival

Festival of cultures set for first week in February

Baylor College of Dentistry's annual Festival of Cultures kicks off Feb. 3 at noon. The Rev. La Fayette Holland, associate pastor of outreach at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, will present a historical perspective of African-Americans in Dallas and the nation. In addition, photo contest winners will be announced.

Sponsored by the college's Welcoming Diversity Committee, the festival concludes on Feb. 7 with guest speaker Billy Williams, president of the Garland Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He will discuss diversity.

BCD faculty, staff and students are encouraged to bring a potluck culinary delight that reflects their cultural heritage to the Ethnic Celebration Luncheon on Feb. 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the sixth floor. Entertainment is still being arranged; information will be posted on the bulletin boards and sent via e-mail as it becomes available.
