The Baylor College of Dentistry Women's Club will host its annual Valentine's Day bake sale Feb. 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the B-level atrium. Items will be available for individual
purchase; in addition, there will be a silent auction for whole desserts.
The bake sale is the club's last fund-raising activity for the year. All proceeds benefit the Women's Club scholarship, which is given annually to a dental or dental hygiene student.
"This year's auction is enjoying the support of administrators, faculty and staff members. They're putting on their chef hats or pulling out their wallets to bring delicious donations," said
Carol Libby, club president and administrative assistant I in periodontics. "It will be fun to see who brought what and to bid on the dessert of your dreams."
To date, the following have agreed to participate: Marty Baylor, director of financial services; Linda Boyd, patient records coordinator in clinical services; LaDawn Brock,
communications coordinator in communications and development; Cindy Ceen, assistant dean for administration; Dr. James Cole (BCD '75), dean; Dr. Janice DeWald
(BCD '95), professor and director of BCD's Caruth School of Dental Hygiene; Dr. David Grogan
(BCD '81, '86), assistant professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery/pharmacology and 2002 Dental-Teacher-of-the-Year Award winner; Dr. Dean Hudson, associate professor and interim chair of
restorative sciences; Susan Mitchell Jackson, executive director of communications and development; Kim Luttman, human resources administrator; Dr. Linda Niessen,
clinical professor of restorative sciences; Dr. Francisco Rivera-Hidalgo, associate professor and director of research in periodontics; Vickie Thompson, clinical administration manager in
restorative sciences; and Dr. Gil Triplett, Regents professor and chair of OMS/P.
