Justice Carolyn Wright speaks at BCD

Baylor College of Dentistry will host Appellate Justice Carolyn Wright at noon Feb. 6 in Room 605. Sponsored by the college's Student National Dental Association in recognition of Black History Month, Wright's one-hour presentation titled "Family Matters" is open to faculty, staff and students. A free lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m.

Wright is one of 13 justices on the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals in Dallas. Her election to the court marks the first time in Texas history that an African-American woman has ever won a multi-county election for any elected office. Active in several professional and civic organizations, Wright has received numerous honors and awards. She graduated from Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C.
