Baylor College of Dentistry's nationally syndicated television oral health news report, "Dental Health Check," airs locally each Monday during WFAA-TV's 6 a.m. and noon newscasts. In addition, "Dental Health Check" segments are now rebroadcast several times a day on the Texas Cable News Network.

"Dental Health Check" is available on BCD's Web site as well. Visit the site for scripts and information about the latest segments. Hosted by Dr. Linda Niessen (BCD), the report's recent topics include:

• "Makeover Mania" featuring Dr. Lee Fitzgerald (BCD '85). Are healthy, functional teeth more important than an attractive smile? Most dentists say yes, but cosmetic dentistry has become so popular that many patients turn to cosmetics hoping to solve all dental problems.

• "Missing Teeth" featuring Dr. T. Bob Davis. Oral health often suffers when a person has missing teeth. Today, dental patients have more options than ever before.

Baylor College of Dentistry is featured in each issue of Dateline, a bimonthly newsletter published by the Dallas County Dental Society. In addition to news and feature articles, college information and highlights are reported in the "Baylor Byline" column.

Baylor College of Dentistry was featured in two different articles in The Daily News in Mexia, Texas. "Fatigue, Headache May Be Signs of Dental Problem" appeared in the June 3 edition and "Genetics Plays a Key Role in Tooth Development" appeared in the June 10 edition. BCD also was mentioned in "Regents warned of legislation," which appeared in the June 17 edition of The Eagle in Bryan, Texas. 

Several BCD alumni and faculty members were featured in "Officers set for dental society." The article appeared in the July 7 edition of The Dallas Morning News and included:

Dr. Robert V. Bailey Jr's. (BCD '52) obituary appeared in the June 25 edition of The Dallas Morning News. He passed away June 25 in Dallas.

Dr. Lara Kirstin Holly (BCD '97) was featured in "Success Story." The article appeared in the June 29 edition of The Dallas Morning News.

Dr. Kelly Kemp (BCD '03) was featured in "Kelly Kemp graduates from Baylor College of Dentistry." The article appeared in the June 18 edition of The Weatherford Democrat in Weatherford, Texas.

Dr. Judd Langley (BCD '03) was featured in "College Kudos." The article appeared in the June 10 edition of The Herald Press in Palestine, Texas.

Dr. Dennis L. Lindsey's (BCD '51) obituary appeared in the July 1 edition of The Dallas Morning News. He passed away on June 28 at Central Methodist Hospital in Dallas.

Dr. Linda C. Niessen (BCD) was featured in "Health care pros finding new options off the beaten path." The article appeared in the June 29 edition of The Dallas Morning News.

Drs. Natalee Noble (BCD '03) and Reggie Noble (BCD '80, '82) were featured in "Family of Dentists." The article appeared in the June 16 edition of The Standard Times in San Angelo, Texas.

Dr. Kenny Thompson (BCD '00, '02) was featured in "Give This Dad a Crown." The article appeared in the June 15 edition of The Daily Tribune in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
