SPEP participants make presentations
Baylor College of Dentistry's eight-week Summer Predental
Enrichment Program attracted 38 students this year. The students completed five academically rigorous courses and participated in several enrichment experiences.
As part of the program's Learning Strategies course, 36 of the students worked on group projects. They presented their results July 25, the program's last day. Presentations
and presenters included:
- "An Innovative Field in Cosmetic Dentistry" by LaToya Harris, Shirley Hernandez, Precious McGregor, Bryan Soto and Marisol Vargas;
- "Anomalies of the Oral Cavity" by Joseph Ayitey-Adjin, Shatona Berard, Dawn Evans, Johana Johnson, Sheena Phillip and Mary Velazquez;
- "Dental Public Health Career Options" by William Hamilton, Tu Nguyen, Steadman Ridley, Rosa Tinajero and Kimberly Walker;
- "Development of Radiology" by Terica Bernard, Ana Esteso, Precious Lloren, Maria Moino and Cramin Wiltz II;
- "Diabetes in Dentistry" by Uchenna Nweze, Saosat Olatunbosun, Christopher Read, Deena Samuel and Hieu Tran;
- "Taking Oral Health to Heart" by Kathy Bui, Maria Evelina Guerrero, Danielle Jones, Kajuri Lalwani and Marcos Martinez; and
- "The Importance of Dental Records in Forensic Dentistry" by Amanda Boothe, Christie Cummings, Simone Ellis, Shih-Ming Lin and Jose Zacarias.
