BCD faculty, staff tapped for leadership

Vicki Barner,
administrative assistant in the Office of Social Services, was named to the community advisory board of Cornell Corrections, a member of the Dallas County Judicial Treatment System. Her three-year term began July 17.

Dr. Jason Griggs, assistant professor of biomaterials science, was appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. His one-year term began in July.

Dr. Hank Jacobs
(BCD '86), clinical assistant professor of diagnostic sciences, was installed as president of the Fort Worth District Dental Society in May. The society serves eight Texas counties including Erath, Hood, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker, Summerville, Tarrant and Wise.

The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center recently announced the promotions of three Baylor College of Dentistry faculty members.
Drs. Jay Shulman and Kay Rankin (BCD'77) were promoted to professor in public health sciences, and Dr. Ernie Brooks (BCD '94, '96) was promoted to
associate professor in student development. In addition, Shulman and Brooks were awarded tenure by The A&M System Board of Regents at their July meeting. Rankin was already tenured.
