BCD students receive national scholarships
Baylor College of Dentistry dental students walked away with three of the four scholarships awarded by the Student National Dental Association during the National Dental Association's annual
convention, held Aug. 1-6 in New Orleans.

(D2) each received the Darryl Hawkins Memorial Scholarship for outstanding academic achievement, dedication and commitment to the SNDA.
"I felt honored and privileged to know that among all my peers nationwide I was one of the few selected to win such a prestigious award," said Stewart.
The scholarship is named in honor of Dr. Darryl Hawkins, a 1989 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University College of Dental Medicine, who was a leader in the SNDA and served as director of
regional coordinators prior to his death in 1990 at age 27.
