Students make presentations
Baylor College of Dentistry participated in a variety of community events in February.
D3 students made six Project Dental Awareness presentations to groups on field trips at BCD. They also made presentations to three elementary groups at The Science Place in Dallas and 11 Tooth Talk presentations to
elementary schools in Dallas, Garland, Mesquite and Rowlett.
D4 students took part in five health fairs in Coppell, Dallas, Garland and McKinney. They provided screenings to two elementary schools in Lewisville and Richardson, and participated in four weekly events at Mission
East Dallas.
Dr. Tim Lee, a pediatric dentistry resident, participated in "Health Nights with MISD" at Hodges Elementary in Mesquite.
Supervising dentists included Dr. Michael Abernathy (BCD '75) of McKinney; Dr. T.C. Lyon, professor emeritus of public health sciences; Dr. Loulou Moore
(BCD '93, '94), assistant professor of restorative sciences; Dr. John Nelson, retired associate dean of clinical services and professor emeritus of diagnostic sciences; and Dr. Lynthia Stewart
(BCD '92) of Dallas. .
