BCD presents new prosthodontics lectureship
Baylor College of Dentistry's Department of Restorative Sciences
will host the Dr. Jesse T. Bullard Lectureship in Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry on April 30 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Baylor University Medical Center's Beasley Auditorium. Created in conjunction with the
college's centennial celebration, the program is the first of what will become an annual lectureship honoring Bullard, professor emeritus of restorative sciences at BCD.
"The Bullard lectureship will bring internationally renowned experts in prosthodontics and implant dentistry to BCD and the dental community," said Dr. Ronald Woody,
lectureship chair, professor of restorative sciences and director of dental implant curriculum at BCD. "Our objective is to provide this continuing education program as a service for the
prosthodontic, dental and laboratory community and to increase the knowledge base in these areas to improve the standard of care for our patients."
The inaugural event features two speakers. Keynote lecturer Dr.
Thomas Taylor of the University of Connecticut will present "Current Understanding of Occlusion and Biomechanics in Implant Dentistry." Dr. William Martin (BCD '99) of the University of Florida College of
Dentistry will present "Pathways to Treatment Success: Esthetic Risk Assessment."
"As an educator and prosthodontist, Dr. Bullard has had significant influence on the art and science of prosthodontics throughout the world," Woody said. "We're proud to host a lectureship at BCD that
honors him and the specialty to which he has devoted his expertise."
Invitations have been extended to BCD faculty, graduate residents,
predoctoral students and alumni as well as members of the Dallas County Dental Society, the Southwest Academy of Restorative Dentistry and other dentists and laboratory technicians who have
