Faculty promotions
Ten Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry faculty members have been approved for promotion and assumed new titles this summer.
Cheng grant
Dr. Yi-Shing Lisa Cheng, associate professor in diagnostic sciences, has received a grant from the National Institutes of Health to explore using saliva as an early detection method in a high-risk group for oral cancer.
Puttaiah helps Russian standards
Dr. Raghunath Puttaiah, associate professor in diagnostic sciences, traveled to Russia this summer as one of two Americans invited by the Moscow State University for Medicine and Dentistry to develop guidelines for treating HIV-positive dental patients and strengthening dental infection control in Russia.
Science teachers research
Ben Doolan and Dusty Vincer were selected from a competitive pool of high school science teachers to spend 10 weeks this summer broadening their scientific expertise at HSC-Baylor College of Dentistry.
Conrad scholars
Local college students visited the HSC-Baylor College of Dentistry campus July 15 for the 11th annual Professional and Graduate School Seminar for the Dr. Emmett J. Conrad Leadership Program.
