Sigma Phi Alpha

The Beta Chapter of Sigma Phi Alpha met this summer for its annual business meeting and to induct new alumni members.

The new inductees to Sigma Phi Alpha included 2009 Caruth School of Dental Hygiene graduates Chris Wilcutt, Kacy Brown and Neelie Bruce.

Members and inductees also spent time at the meeting getting to know one another. One Sigma Phi Alpha member, Dr. Martha Malik, traveled 300 miles to attend the meeting. The group was most honored by the attendance of charter member Patricia Wessendorff, founding director of the Caruth School of Dental Hygiene at Baylor College of Dentistry in 1955.

Along with faculty members, attendees included Jeanette Roach, a recent inductee from the class of 2008, and Dr. Audrey Stansbury, a 1998 dental hygiene class member who completed dental school in 2009.
