Community Connection - November 2009
A team of 30 participants gathered in the early morning of Oct. 17 to represent HSC-Baylor College of Dentistry at the Komen Dallas Race for the Cure.
Organized by the college’s chapter of the Texas Association of Women Dentists, the group exceeded its fundraising goal and was named the third-highest fundraising group in the race’s school category.
The Komen Dallas Race for the Cure is an annual 1K and 5K fundraising run/walk event. The co-ed race, now in its 27th year, is part of a national 5K series sponsored by Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Its goal is to raise funds, heighten awareness and educate people about breast health and recognize and celebrate breast cancer survivorship.
