Announcements - November 2008

Holiday hiatus: There will be no December issue of the Baylor Dental Record Online. The deadline for the January issue is Nov. 21. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to submit professional and personal news for publication. To submit news or get more information, e-mail Amber Thomas at akthomas@bcd.tamhsc.edu.

Toy driveGive to Toy Drive 2008! The college has once again joined Community Partners of Dallas’ annual toy drive to fulfill the holiday wishes of 75 Dallas children who have been abused and neglected. Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate by selecting a child’s wish card in room 522.

Each wish card lists a child’s name, personal information and wish. Most wishes range from $10 to $20. Then return the wish cards and matching toys, unwrapped, by Dec. 5. Contact Lori Dees at Ext. 8471 for more information.

Community Partners of Dallas is a nonprofit organization that helps abused and neglected children by providing support to Dallas County Child Protective Services. Last year the program provided toys to more than 5,500 children.

EAO cooking and crafts: The Employee Activity Organization has two opportunities this month for all employees.

  • The group’s 300-page cookbook, What’s Cooking at BCD, is now available for $8. Those interested can purchase the cookbook from Debi Villarreal in room 102 or Gary Hornback in room 105.
  • The annual EAO craft fair is Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the college’s basement. Eleven vendors will be selling items at the fair, and each vendor also has donated an item for a silent auction in the atrium that same day.
