OMS faculty and residents attended the combined annual meeting of the Southwest Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Texas Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons April 2-4 in St. Augustine, Fla. As president of the TSOMS, Dr. David Grogan gave the welcome address. He and other HSC-BCD representatives also gave three oral presentations: - Grogan D, Bell CS. - Wilkinson PS. Guided bone regeneration in single extraction sites prior to implant placement.
- Miner RH. The use of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Wilkinson and Miner, both OMS residents, were awarded $1,000 grants from the North Texas Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons to partially support their attendance.
