Dale Lewis, clinic coordinator in professional services, is celebrating his 20th year at Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry.
In that time, Lewis has seen many changes at the college and cites the digital revolution as the most significant. He says it changed patient scheduling, billing, and led to the electronic health record. “Wow,” he declares, as he thinks about the improvements.
Those changes are especially relevant to Lewis because they’re the essence of his job. He manages the billing, insurance and personnel for the private practice within the college.
Lewis says he’s stayed at HSC-Baylor College of Dentistry since 1988 because of his continued friendships. He says he considers some of his co-workers his “extended family.” One of his favorite memories was when he learned Dr. Marianela Gonzalez was returning to the college. “She is a wonderful person and a great friend,” he says.
In his free time, Lewis enjoys many hobbies, including cooking, entertaining, travel and community service. He and his partner, Philip, are celebrating their 20th year together this spring.
