Sheryl Hornback, educational specialist in the office of student development, was recognized for 25 years of service to Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry.
Hornback assists first- and second-year dental students and dental hygiene students in achieving academic success. She also helps the summer predental high school and college programs.
Working with students is Hornback’s favorite part of her job. She says she likes “observing them as they gain confidence as dental professionals.”
In her 25 years at the college, Hornback says her favorite memory is watching a graduate student paddle a kayak down Nussbaumer Street after a heavy rain. She also says she’s stayed with HSC-BCD because her work is valued.
Outside work, Hornback enjoys many hobbies including theater, reading and exercising at Curves. She also collects antique rhinestone brooches and earrings and Rosepoint crystal. She and her husband, Gary, have four grandchildren and another on the way.
