Staff development day The HSC-Baylor College of Dentistry Staff Forum hosted Staff Development Day Jan. 3 at the college. A total of 123 staff members participated in the event, which featured sessions on a variety of topics, a catered lunch and fellowship opportunities.

This year’s featured topics included sessions on workplace conflict, nutrition, financial investing, stress management, personal safety and the impact of enjoyment and gratitude in the workplace.

“We (on the Staff Development Committee) appreciate very much the financial support provided by the administration for this event and also the assistance from many people who helped make it a successful day,” says Jeanne Santa Cruz, education specialist in biomedical sciences. “We are pleased with theStaff development day positive feedback and useful comments we’ve received, and hope that everyone who attended found something in the presentations that will help them in their daily lives at work and at home.”

The Staff Development Committee spent countless hours researching, planning, organizing, staffing and promoting the event. The committee members include Priscilla Gillaspie, animal technician in the Animal Resources Unit; Liz Lester, assistant director of financial aid; Gracie Perez, clinic manager in clinical affairs; Debbie Roberts, administrative coordinator in biomaterials science; and Santa Cruz.
