Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College Of Dentistry Awards & Honors

Dr. Reginald TaylorDr. Reginald Taylor, associate professor and director of predoctoral orthodontics at Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry, was selected for a National Dental Association Foundation/Colgate-Palmolive Faculty Recognition Award.

Recipients were honored during the National Dental Association annual convention July 27 – Aug. 1 in Atlanta. Taylor received a commemorative plaque and a $750 cash award.

After seven years of teaching at HSC-BCD, Taylor says this honor has inspired him to try even harder to teach the next generations of dental professionals.

“I am proud to have received this award from the National Dental Association,” Taylor says. “It is always gratifying to be recognized by an organization of your peers.”

The NDAF/Colgate-Palmolive faculty awards program honors the achievements of minority faculty in dental education and research who have demonstrated excellence in professional development and a willingness to support and help others in their quest for knowledge and advancement. These awards, presented annually, recognize full-time dental faculty whose actions produce a balance between dental educators and dental practitioners through joint efforts of the National Dental Association and the American Dental Education Association.

“I was pleased to have the opportunity to nominate Dr. Taylor for the award,” says Dr. Lavern Holyfield, director of faculty development at HSC-BCD. “His commitment to the professional development of students is unsurpassed, devoting an inordinate amount of time and resources in support of the college's Student National Dental Association and student research.”
