Remembering Bradley, TAMHSC-BCD’s former president and dean
A lot happened during the 10 years Dr. Richard E. Bradley led the dental school as president and dean. Before he retired in 1990, the college underwent vast change, including a building program and the initiation of new programs and centers. Federal research grants exceeded $1 million, and the number of faculty members with research published in academic journals more than doubled.
What’s more, his continual presence both around the college’s halls and at events went hand-in-hand with the Baylor College of Dentistry Alumni Association’s eventual transition from volunteer management to a professionally staffed office.
When the Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry community learned of Bradley’s March 11 passing, the reaction was one tinged with sadness but also filled with gratitude for the leader whose personality was at once warm, engaged and focused. In this look back at Bradley’s deanship through photos, the images tell the story.
