Frosty’s day in the sun

Snowmen Creativity Contest

Media Resources/Steven Doll

The Biomedical Sciences Graduate Student Association challenged students, faculty and staff to come up with their most creative renditions of the fabled snowman. Here are some of their ideas.

A marshmallow can dub as the perfect snowman. Just stack a few together, add some candy accents, and you have yourself an edible holiday delight. Powdered donuts work just as well, especially for those who enjoy a cloud of powdered sugar with each bite.

There was a bit of everything at the Nov. 29 Snowman Winter Creativity Contest and silent auction, from bite-sized snowman cakes on lollipop sticks to snowmen-topped jars and candlesticks. Don’t forget the “M Snowman” microscope slides, each eerily translucent with samples of Frosty in melted form.

The variety of entries at the fundraiser served the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Student Association well, as it received more than $500 through voter donations and silent auction bids.
