When visiting Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry in early 2011, I caught a glimpse of the teamwork and commitment embodied by the dental school’s faculty, staff and students.
From Oct. 25-27, during the college’s site visit by the American Dental Association’s Commission on Dental Accreditation, I had the privilege to be a part of that dedication to excellence. I can truly say that our daily commitment to providing quality dental education and a high level of patient care laid the framework for a successful site visit. I knew right away when I read the self study that we have some amazing programs.
Getting ready for an accreditation site visit within two months of assuming a new deanship isn’t a task taken lightly. As countless faculty and staff members prepared presentations and volunteered their time to welcome commissioners and escort them around the college, I was struck by the capability and cohesion of this team.
The TAMHSC-BCD community made quite an impact on CODA commissioners, as well. I will tell you with confidence that the school’s programs were deemed excellent. We must be doing something right, and the committee recognizes that. We have an amazing school, and I will do everything I can to make sure it keeps growing.
You are what make this school great. Thank you.
