The college offers its sympathy to Willie Graham, dental dispensing technician II in clinical affairs, whose mother, Lucille Shaw, passed away Sept. 19. Visitation and funeral services were Sept. 26 at The Potter’s House in Dallas.
Condolences are offered to the family of Sandra Stansbury, accounting technician in financial services, whose father-in-law, Jim Stansbury, passed away Oct. 2. A private family memorial service was Oct. 3 in Rockwall, Texas.
The college also extends sympathy to the family of Drs. Emet Schneiderman, associate professor in biomedical sciences, and Ann McCann, professor and director of planning & assessment. Dr. Leo Schneiderman, who is Schneiderman’s father and McCann’s father-in-law, passed away Sept. 26 at his home in Storrs, Conn. Funeral services were in Mansfield, Conn., and donations are being made in Leo Schneiderman’s memory to the Lustgarten Foundation, which is dedicated to fighting pancreatic cancer.
Thoughts and sympathies are with the family of Dr. Phillip Campbell, Robert E. Gaylord Endowed Chair and chair of the Department of Orthodontics, as they mourn the loss of Nelda “Nell” Davis, Campbell’s sister, who passed away Oct. 3. Funeral services were Oct. 6 in Beaumont, Texas.
CODA site visit is Oct. 25-27

The ADS Biannual Dental Sealant & Prophy Day is Nov. 5
The Asian-American Dental Society’s fall sealant and prophy day is scheduled for Nov. 5 in the second floor pediatric dentistry clinic. Children ages 6 to 14 can receive free sealants and dental cleanings between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Community members can call 214-828-8400, ext. 4199, after Oct. 15 to make appointments for their children. Dental students, faculty and staff interested in volunteer opportunities are encouraged to contact Dr. Loulou Moore, ADS faculty adviser, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
2011 ASDA Golf Tournament is Oct. 22 at Bear Creek Golf Club
The 2011 American Student Dental Association Golf Tournament is Oct. 22 at the Bear Creek Golf Club East Course in Dallas.
The greens fee of $75 per student or $95 per non-student includes:
- greens and cart fees, range balls, golf cart GPS devices, and a burger buffet;
- one greens fee with cart rental, after 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday;
- longest-drive and closest-to-the-pin prizes; and
- hole-in-one prize on all par 3s, including trips for two to Hawaii, PGA Village, Tres Marias and Mandalay Bay Spa.
The foursome scramble is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. Registration should have been sent via email to D4 Shane Whisenant and checks paid to ASDA or PayPal.
