DH seniors garner awards at DDHS Student Table Clinic Night
The Dallas Dental Hygienists’ Society hosted its annual Student Table Clinic Night on April 7, at which DDHS members serving as judges circulated in groups among the students’ presentations. At the end of the night, each group tallied up the results to determine winners.
Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry students claimed the following titles:
- First place—Tonya Hein, DH2 and Rachael Young, DH2 for “To Breathe or Not to Breathe” (Jane Cotter, mentor);
- Second place—Hilary Perkins, DH2 and Madeline Keifer, DH2 for “Diagnosing Opportunity” (Pat Campbell, mentor); and
- Third place—Lisa Swinney, DH2 and Leah Spittle, DH2 for “The Story Behind Stephan” (Cherri Kading, mentor).

There’s still more ahead for two additional dental hygiene winners from TAMHSC-BCD’s Research and Scholars Day held April 6: Linh Tran, DH2 and Ann Loan Tran, DH2, who were mentored by Lisa Mallonee. Their first-place finish at Research and Scholars Day means they will go on to present at the American Dental Hygienists’ Association Annual Meeting this month in Nashville, Tenn.
