Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry is family to Ester Wilson, dental assistant II in the Department of Restorative Sciences, who joined the dental school in 1980.

She considers her colleagues and the students to be brothers, sisters, extended relatives even. In fact, some of her colleagues are family. Her daughter, Angela Wilson, is an administrative assistant in public health sciences; her niece, Jackie Touch, is a senior dental dispensing technician in clinical affairs.

“My relationship with my Baylor family is priceless,” Wilson says. “I love to interact with the students, staff, faculty and patients.”

Wilson works to utilize four-handed dentistry in a relaxed manner with students. During the last 30 years, the equipment updates resulting in advanced modern technology have served as both a learning experience and a challenge to be met. Wilson also appreciates the college’s employment perks.

“TAMHSC-BCD is a great institution to work for and offers good benefits,” she says.

Wilson’s family at home includes David Wilson, her husband of 32 years. When she’s not at work, you can expect to find Wilson outside in the yard—or just about anywhere—as she loves to garden and travel.

“I’m blessed because God gives me strength in my everyday life,” she says.
