ICD and ACD confer Fellow designations on faculty

ICD FellowSeveral Texas A&M Health Science Center-Baylor College of Dentistry faculty members were honored with fellowship in the International College of Dentists or the American College of Dentists on Oct. 8 during the American Dental Association annual meeting in Orlando.

Dr. Stan Ashworth’71, associate professor in general dentistry, Dr. Brent Hutson ’93, associate professor in restorative sciences, and Dr. Jackie Plemons ’86, professor in periodontics, each received the prestigious International College of Dentists designation in a formal ceremony.

Dr. Robert K. White, assistant professor in endodontics, was likewise recognized with induction as a fellow of the American College of Dentists.

ICD fellowship is by invitation only, an honor bestowed upon “those dentists who have made significant contributions to the profession, the community and their families.” ACD fellowship also is by invitation and was conceived “to elevate the standards of dentistry, to encourage graduate study, and to grant fellowship to those who have done meritorious work.”
