Faculty development & networking series lecture
Clinical psychologist Linda Salinas, Ph.D. will speak about "Teaching Students with Learning Challenges" on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 310. Salinas will address the challenges of teaching and testing students with learning differences and help participants understand the capabilities of these students.

"Give Life"
The fall Marrow Donor and Blood Drive is Tuesday, Sept. 21.  The event runs from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the 6th floor lobby.  Register beforehand for a donation time.  Drop-ins will also be welcome.

2010 Blair Loving Memorial Golf Classic & Reunion

Dr. Blair LovingClassmates of Dr. Blair G. Loving '88 knew his infectious smile and his encouraging outlook on life. On Feb. 14, 2007, 18 months after suffering a Wallenberg stroke which left him with 40% blood flow to the brain, Loving passed away at age 45. 

To honor his son's memory, Dr. Dan Loving '58 and family members established the Blair G. Loving Memorial Athletic Scholarship at Texas Christian University, Loving's undergraduate institution.  Two golf tournaments and reunions are held each year in support of the scholarship - in Amarillo and in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. The 2010 tournament is on Friday, Oct. 8 at Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club in Plano at 1:30 p.m. To register for the event and for more information, go to http://www.docblov.com/



Heartfelt sympathies are extended to Dwight Williams and family upon the death of his father, Mr. Allen Beachum, on Aug. 16. Funeral services were held on Aug. 21 at El Bethel Church of God in Christ in Dallas.  Williams is a human resources analyst at the college.

Sympathy is extended to Dr. Charles Berry, professor and associate dean in academic affairs, and family, upon the death of Berry's mother, Dr. Rose Auersperg Berry on Aug. 20. Funeral services were held on Aug. 24 at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Arkansas.

Mr. Billy Malesovas passed away on Aug. 25. He retired from the college in 1992 after serving as comptroller for 20 years. A memorial service was held on Aug. 31 at Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas.  Donations may be made in Malesovas' memory to Wilshire Baptist Church Pathways to Ministry.

Mr. David Clemmons, Jr., father of Jeanette Moore, surgical assistant in oral surgery, died Sept. 3.  Funeral services were held Sept. 8 at Alta Mesa Baptist Church in Dallas. Sympathies are extended to the Clemmons and Moore families.
