Back-to-School with BCD

Providing care at fairMany Dallas-area schoolchildren are smiling a little brighter because of the dental screenings and fluoride varnishes provided by Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry during the 14th annual Mayor's Back to School Fair, which was held Aug. 5 at Dallas' Fair Park.

The fair helps nearly 20,000 economically disadvantaged children prepare for the coming academic year. Free school supplies, haircuts, immunizations and health screenings all were available at the event.

In addition to the volunteers from the dental school, representatives were present from the City of Dallas, the Dallas Independent School District, Dallas County Health and Human Services, various state agencies, nonprofits and corporations.
