On March 27, 14 students from Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry participated in Texas Mission of Mercy in Tyler, Texas.
TMOM events, sponsored by the Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation, are multi-day dental missions that bring together hundreds of dentists, dental professionals and other volunteers from across Texas with the goal of relieving immediate pain and restoring smiles.

The Tyler TMOM provided charitable care to 481 patients valued at over $293,000, of which the HSC-Baylor College of Dentistry team provided almost $10,000, according to TDASF director Traci Whitney.
Since the program's inception in 2001, TMOM events have provided care to more than 15,000 patients. This equates to over $5 million in charitable dental services provided to Texas citizens.
The next TMOM is in Taylor, Texas, on June 11-12. Taylor is approximately 15 minutes east of Round Rock. To learn more about the event and to register as a volunteer go to www.tdasf.org.
