Jan Steele - 45 Years
Periodontics

Steele in the clinic

Congratulations to Jan Steele for 45 loyal years of service to Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry!

While many people have only heard or read about Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry's long-standing history, Jan Steele has experienced and contributed to many years of that history first-hand.

Steele, clinical nurse coordinator in the Department of Periodontics, began working at HSC-BCD in 1964 and has served under five department chairs.

During her 45-year tenure at the dental school, she has worked as a nurse, CPR instructor, IV conscious sedation assistant and clinic manager, but co-workers say Steele also is known as a wise advisor, resident confidant, and loyal friend.  She attributes the graduate students and keeping busy as the reasons for continuing her work at the college.

Enjoy the photographs of one of the dental school's M.V.E.'s (Most Valuable Employee) and read more about Steele in the November/December 2009 issue of the Baylor Dental Record Online (http://bcd.tamhsc.edu/bdro/novdec2009/profile.html).
