The College participates in the Texas Medical and Dental Schools Application Service (TMDSAS). This central processing service allows the applicant to apply to any or all of the three dental schools in the State of Texas. The TMDSAS accepts and processes all materials of the primary application for admission to the Doctor of Dental Surgery program only.
The College participates in the American Association of Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS) for out-of-state students only. Applicants to other programs of Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry should contact the Office of Recruitment and Admissions. The TMDSAS has a variable fee based upon the number of schools for which you apply. Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry requires a secondary application but charges no additional processing fee.
It is to the applicant's advantage to apply as early as possible. The TMDSAS on-line application is usually accessible by May 1 of the application cycle. The Office of Recruitment and Admissions strongly advises applicants to submit the application by September 1. Selection for interviews begin in early August and this requires a transmitted complete application. TMDSAS will not transmit incomplete applications to the participating dental schools. A definition of the completed application is available on the TMDSAS website. Processing time from submission to mailing is approximately 15 working days and may be longer during peak period of September 15 to November 15.
Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry requires the submission of a secondary application in addition to the primary application. The Secondary Application is available for electronic submission at the online application site BAMF.

The following questionnaire provides valuable information about factors that may have impacted your personal or academic progress. Along with your personal statement in the main application it gives us insight into significant accomplishments that are not evident from examination of statistics of academic history or standardized test scores.

Out-of-state applicants have three options. They may apply through the TMDSAS, through the American Association of Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS) or with Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry application available on-line.
Please note: Out-of-state applicants who apply through the American Association of Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS) MUST also submit the Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry application packet.
The deadline for submitting application is September 30th. This deadline refers to submitting the application to the TMDSAS, AADSAS and for out-of-state residents the TAMBCD Primary Application on the BAMF website. The deadline is for the submission of the application only, other materials may be added to your file after the deadline. We do encourage applicants to have as complete a file as possible by the deadline. The Dental Admissions Committee will not begin reviewing out-of-state applications until after the deadline and will only review complete applications.
The applicant will need to create an account on the TAMHSC Admissions Processing Portal website (TAMHSC APP). The applicant will be required to complete and submit the TAMBCD Secondary Application, making sure that on Question #2 is checked. Once the TAMBCD Secondary Application is submitted the BCD Primary Application and Ethnicity Form will be assigned to the applicant. The TAMBCD Primary Application will give you instructions on how to pay the application fee. We do not accept online payment for the fee.
Applicants who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. and/or who have earned degrees at foreign institutions can be eligible for admission provided that they have completed:
Preference is given to Texas residents, who are U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents or who are in the process of gaining U.S. permanent residency by the time of dental school enrollment. (Official documentation will be required at the time of dental school application and before matriculation.)
International students with graduate or professional degrees are considered for admission only to the first-year dental class, regardless of the degrees held.
Canadian students are considered for admission provided they have successfully completed 90 credit hours or earned a baccalaureate degree at a fully accredited Canadian college or university.
You may download the Evaluation Form if needed. The TAMBCD Evaluation Form is a courtesy form, if the recommender does not wish to use our form to submit the letter it is not required. Please make sure that the applicant's full name and last four digits of the social security number are listed on the letter if our form is not submitted.
TAMBCD requires three recommendation/evaluation letters be submitted for out-of-state applicants. The letters should be submitted by the predental advisor, a practicing dentist and a personal friend (ex. employer, mentor/advisor or someone who knows the applicant well). If the recommendation/evaluation letters submitted to AADSAS fulfill the TAMBCD criteria no further letters are required.
